At the Max Perutz Labs, the University of Vienna seeks to appoint a Full Professor of Integrative Structural Biology

The position:

The mission of the Max Perutz Labs is to analyse and reconstitute complex biological systems across different scales of resolution. We invite applications from candidates with outstanding track records in the field of structural biology - broadly defined - including experimental, in silico, and integrated approaches. The Max Perutz Labs aim to create a pioneering centre of excellence in structural and computational studies. As part of the initiative, the University of Vienna is committed to establish cutting-edge instrumentation with high-end capabilities, designed to enable researchers to conduct analyses of macromolecules and complex structures directly within their natural contexts. Situated at the Vienna BioCenter, a European Life Sciences hub, the institute features excellent infrastructure, including core facilities in Mass Spectrometry and BioOptics. Additionally, it offers access to Protein Technologies, Electron Microscopy, Proteomics, and Metabolomics through the Vienna BioCenter Core Facilities. High-performance computing is readily accessible. The Max Perutz Labs participate in the renowned Vienna BioCenter PhD program, connecting with exceptional junior scientists.

Your academic profile:

• Doctoral degree/PhD
• Outstanding research achievements, excellent publication and funding record, international reputation
• Proven leadership qualities

• Experience in designing and managing large research projects
• Enthusiasm for excellent teaching and supervision at the bachelor's, master's, and doctoral level
• Willingness to take on organisational and administrative responsibilities within the Center and/or the University

The University of Vienna expects the successful candidate to acquire, within three years, proficiency in German sufficient for teaching in bachelor’s programmes and for participation in university committees.
