Offer Description

Within an National project directed towards CO2 catalytic reduction, the CNRS is opening a 20-months position for a young researcher at the University of Lille. The position is opened for a researcher possessing practical experience in the in the fields of materials chemistry and / or chemical engineering and / or heterogeneous catalysis. The project will be conducted at the Catalysis and Solid Chemistry Unit and will be performed in collaboration with major French CNRS laboratories.

•Development of experimental procedure for the synthesis and characterisation of catalysts
•Catalytic activity evaluation
•Writing scientific and technical reports, technical procedures.

The project aims to develop catalytic porous ceramics for dry methane reforming and CO2 methanation reactions, two essential catalytic reactions in the energy field for which the stability of the catalyst is the main issue. As part of this project, porous ceramics are prepared by Polymer Impregnation Pyrolysis (PIP), a route allowing easy control of the chemical composition and shaping. On the surface of the objects, the composition of the supports is modulated to optimize heat transfer during catalytic reactions. The effect of the method of the incorporation of the catalytic elements, Ni(Ru) and dopants (A = ZrO2, CeO2, MgO, TiO2, Al2O3), will also be studied. A coherent and complementary combination of structural and microstructural characterizations (MEB-FIB, EELS-EDS-STEM, X-ray tomography, XRD) and physicochemical investigations (rheology of precursors, IR spectroscopies, NMR, XPS, porosimetry ) is proposed to characterize catalysts.
