Offer Description

The post-doctoral candidate for the development of the Thematic Project titled “Development of Ceramic Scaffolds for Application in Tissue Engineering” should have experience in the interface between mechanical engineering and materials science, or related fields.

The desired skills for the fellowship candidate include:

1) Integrating knowledge of additive manufacturing equipment (desktop and semi-industrial) and additive manufacturing planning with phenomena of polymer rheology and the structure and properties of ceramic materials;

2) Conducting additive manufacturing (especially with extrusion and photopolymerization processes) of scaffolds using experimental designs and technical standards;

3) Interpreting results obtained in item 2 with a deep understanding of physical, mechanical, and microstructural characterizations;

4) Understanding the fundamentals of project design and additive manufacturing processes, particularly based on desktop FDM techniques (for laboratory use), including basic knowledge of hardware and software for possible adaptations of equipment for processing ceramic filaments and pastes.

Candidates must hold a doctoral degree obtained no more than seven years ago, either domestically or internationally, preferably in the field of mechanical engineering or materials science.

Interested individuals should send an email (eliria@usp.br) with the subject “PD SCAFFOLD FAPESP”; attaching a letter of interest, Curriculum Vitae following the template established by FAPESP (São Paulo Research Foundation, grantor institution), and contact information.

This opportunity is open to candidates of any nationality. The selected candidate will receive a FAPESP Post-Doctoral fellowship in the amount of R$ 9,047.40 monthly and a research contingency fund, equivalent to 10% of the annual value of the fellowship which should be spent on items directly related to the research activity.
