The successful candidate will mainly be responsible for supervising exercise sessions and monitoring students for bachelor's degrees in human and social sciences (https://www.ulb.be/fr/programme/ba-shum-1 ) and sociology and anthropology (https://www.ulb.be/fr/programme/ba-soca-1 ), and for master's degrees in sociology (https://www.ulb.be/fr/programme/ma-soco ), cultural management (https://www.ulb.be/fr/programme/ma-pgecu ), population and development sciences (https://www.ulb.be/fr/programme/ma-coop ), and European studies (https://www.ulb.be/fr/programme/ma-eteu ).

In addition, to complete a doctoral thesis, candidates must demonstrate their ability to engage in high-quality fundamental research. This ability will be assessed on the basis of the thesis project submitted, the Master's dissertation and the courses taken during the course of study.

The term of office for full-time assistants is 2 years, renewable after approval by the relevant bodies for a further 2-year period.
