The Institute Electrochemical Energy Storage is looking for
Postdoc (f/m/d) for AI-supported Synchrotron, FIB/SEM and Neutron Tomography Data Processing
Your Tasks
- You are responsible for the planning, execution and coordination of scientific research activities in the field of AI-supported radiographic and tomographic 2D/3D/4D analyses of battery and fuel cell materials.
- You use synchrotron/neutron and FIB/SEM tomography to analyze electrode materials of batteries, fuel cells and electrolysers.
- You develop novel approaches for the use of neural networks for quantitative 3D analysis and automated 3D evaluation.
- You will work on the development of data interfaces for the creation of a virtual lab in collaboration with international cooperation partners and industrial companies.
Your Profile
- Extensive experience in the application and further development of imaging methods based on synchrotron, X-ray and neutron radiation and in quantitative AI-supported 3D data analysis as well as the application of these methods to energy materials
- Excellent expertise in AI techniques and their application in the field of batteries and fuel cells
- Very good publication record
- Very good knowledge of battery and/or fuel cell systems
- Very good command of the English language
- Good command of the German language
- High level of intercultural competence and ability to work in a team
