Offer Description

The Faculty of Law at the Johannes Kepler University invites applications as an employee under private law for a five-year professorship position in

Public Law

to begin immediately.

The successful candidate will be expected to represent the field of Public Law in Austria, both in research and teaching. In the area of education/teaching and in coordination with department chairs, the successful candidate is expected to educate legal professionals as part of on-site academic degree programs (the Diploma degree program in Law, Bachelor's and Master's programs in Law, and the Bachelor's degree program in Business Law), as well as in the Multimedia Diploma degree program in Law. In addition, the successful candidate is expected to be willing to perform administrative duties and independently assume university administration responsibilities.

Applicants must hold a post-doctoral qualification (Habilitation) or comparable educational qualification in the fields of constitutional law and administrative law. The selection criteria include:

(a)   Quality and original research in the area of Austrian public law

(b)   Subject-related experience in academia (teaching university-level courses)

(c)   Subject-related experience in lecturing,

(d)   Connections to professional practice and

(e)   Degree of involvement in the scientific community.

An annual gross salary above the minimum amount of € 89,075.00 as stated in the collective agreement will be voluntarily offered.
