Offer Description

The candidate applying for the above position must meet the requirements specified in art. 113 of the Act of 20 July 2018 Law on Higher Education and Science (Dz. U. 2018, poz. 1668.), in the University's Statute (Annex 1, 6) and Resolution No. 51 - 2017/2018 of the SGGW Senate of May 28, 2018, regarding amendments to the Statute of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences - SGGW.

The duties of the candidate will include, among others: conducting research, application for research grants, conducting classes in subjects including primarily issues related to forestry economics, forest management, human resources management, and information technology in the programs offered by the Warsaw University of Life Sciences-SGGW.

Skills/Qualifications
  • the professional degree of Master of Science, Master of Science in Forestry or equivalent;
  • relevant research and teaching interests and the ability to develop them;
  • a minimum of 5 years experience in teaching in the field of forestry economics and information technology;
  • Fluent Polish language, which enables conducting classes with students
  • experience in conducting classes in English;
  • at least good command of the English language, sufficient to allow independent writing of scientific publications, conducting didactic classes, writing application for external research grants, and presenting reports at scientific conferences;
  • experience in the management of human resources - at least 2 years of experience in a managerial position;
  • additional education/experience in the administration of EU funds or grants;
  • experience in preparing proposals for funding of EU projects;
  • experience in monitoring and accounting of projects funded by the EU (including environmental projects);
  • experience in formal and content-related evaluation of applications for funding from the EU and conduct training on the implementation of projects;
  • experience in the preparation of documentation necessary for the implementation of the public procurement process;
  • very good knowledge of MS Office and database software (including knowledge of SQL);
  • positive personality traits, primarily creativity, responsibility, diligence, communication skills, readiness to expand knowledge, teamwork skills, compromise, task orientation, and analytical skills.

Additional welcomed skills:

  • category B driving license;
  • knowledge of legal provisions in the field of financing projects from EU funds;
  • knowledge of issues related to EU aid programs and the management of EU funds in Poland.

The documents required to join the competition:

  1. employment application addressed to the Rector of Warsaw University of Life Sciences – SGGW;
  2. a copy of the diploma or other confirmation of the accomplished education;
  3. curriculum vitae including professional experience, scientific achievements, and the list of publications;
  4. a declaration confirming compliance with the requirements of Art. 113 of the Act on Higher Education (Dz. U. z 2018 r., item 1668);
  5. a declaration that the SGGW will be the primary place of employment of the candidate.
