Ginkgo Introduction
Our mission is to make biology easier to engineer. Ginkgo is constructing, editing, and redesigning the living world in order to answer the globe’s growing challenges in health, energy, food, materials, and more. Our bioengineers make use of an in-house automated foundry for designing and building new organisms.
Team Introduction
The Encapsulation & Screening Foundry collaborates with other Ginkgo teams to deliver biological solutions to our partners active in industrial biotech, life sciences, agriculture, and pharma. We contribute to the success of these programs with our proprietary screening platform that enables the analysis of millions of cells and microbes to isolate candidates with specific properties. The Foundry is located at the Tech Park in Basel, Switzerland.
Who you are
You are an open-minded team player that has a Bachelor/Master degree in biological sciences (e.g. biotechnology, microbiology, cell biology, molecular biology) and you are looking for a traineeship at an exciting biotech company. You are familiar with the general work of a biotechnology laboratory and you want to gain experience in applied research.
What you give
You are willing to spend at least 12 months in the charming city of Basel and you are eager to share and discuss innovative ideas. You will be working with colleagues on projects currently running in our foundry, which will be selected according to your background. With your dedication and commitment you will contribute to the successful execution of the projects you are involved in.
What you get back
You will get hands-on expertise in modern biotechnological techniques and get insight into the work of a synthetic biology company. You will also experience the busy and fun life in our Basel Foundry and be an important part of our international team.
