Offer Description
The post-doctoral position is to be filled as part of the "Built and Lived Environment (BLE)" profile area funded by the Ministry of Culture and Science of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia. This researches the sustainability of real estate in its life cycle, which includes the development phase, the use phase including flexible conversion options as well as circular economy approaches. Our focus is on issues relating to the "NRW Region-Wasser-Bauen" competence network and the "net zero city Aachen" cooperation area. Economic decision-making rationales are supplemented by aspects of ultra-longlife investments, where the economic planning horizon is shorter than the lifespan of the corresponding investments. The associated extensions to conventional decision-making processes help to identify BLE solutions that are desirable for the development of a sustainable real estate sector.
The position is to be filled at the earliest possible date and is initially limited to 3 years (full-time position). An extension financed by the chair is being sought. The position is valued at pay grade 13 TV-L (pay level 4). RWTH Aachen University is certified as a family-friendly university. At RWTH Aachen University, we particularly want to promote the careers of women and therefore welcome female applicants. Women with equal qualifications and professional performance will be given preferential consideration if they are underrepresented in the organizational unit and if there are no overriding reasons in the person of another applicant competitor. Applications from suitable severely disabled persons are encouraged.
