Applications are open for 1 Research Studentship, within the framework of project/R&D institution Tecnologias Sustentáveis para remoção de Micropoluentes de Água/IST-ID (PTDC/EAMBAMB/2023/2021, financed by national funds through FCT/MCTES (PIDDAC
Workplan: The main objective of this work is the development, characterization from the thermophysical and
thermodynamic point of view, and testing in extraction of micropollutants present in water from eutectic solvents or materials derived therefrom. The work plan is divided into the following steps: i) study of solid-liquid diagrams of eutectic solvents based on hydrophobic natural compounds; ii) study of its solubility and stability in water; iii)
measurement of thermophysical properties such as density, viscosity and surface tension; iv) study of extraction of micropollutants (drugs) from water with the prepared eutectic solvents
Duration: The research fellowship(s) will have the duration of 6 months. It’s expected to begin in March 2024, and may be eventually renewed up to the maximum of 12 months.

b) not to exceed with this contract, including the possible renovations, an accumulated period of two years in this type of studentship, continuously or with interruptions.
Additional Information
Monthly maintenance allowance: According to the values for Research Fellowships awarded by FCT in Portugal (https://www.fct.pt/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Tabela-de-Valores-SMM_2023.pdf), the amount of the monthly maintenance allowance is € 1199,64€, being the payment method an option of the Fellow by Wire Transfer/Check.

Selection methods: The selection methods will be the following: 50% curricular assessment and 50% adequate laboratory experience.

Announcement/ notification of the results: The final evaluation results will be communicated to all applicants by email.
