Offer Description

The candidate will lead a research project on numerical modeling by finite elements of the compression of polymer foams. It will be necessary to generate microstructures, mesh them and calculate their behavior to estimate the relation between microstructure and properties

Research project.
Generating microstructures with high porosity. Meshing the micrsotructures. Study the numerical convergence. Study the relationship between the macroscopic behavior and the microstructure and the local behavior.

The project will be part of the mechanics of materials field at Laboratoire de Mécanique des Solides at Ecole Polytechnique (Palaiseau)
