Senior Lecturer (must hold a Diploma/Master’s degree) for a full-time, temporary position (with option of a tenured position) at the Centre for Business Language and Intercultural Communications

We can offer three Senior Lecturer positions.
Job Duties:
- Teaching in the field of language instruction and language competence in English with the following main topics: English for Specific Purposes - ESP in various degree programs (including economics, business informatics, sociology, cultural studies, human medicine) and Language competence for prospective English teachers in the Bachelor of Education (teacher training), on occasion possibly also in the Master of Education
- In case a candidate is suitably qualified: occasional subject-specific teaching (e.g. English linguistics, literary studies or cultural studies) in the Bachelor of Education for the subject English
- Teaching courses at all English language levels specified in the curricula
- Implementation and administration of language examinations
- Conception and development of course content in the area of English for Specific Purposes (ESP) and English language competence
- Participation in curricular working groups
- Participation in team and department meetings
- Communication with students
- Candidates are expected to keep up-to-date with scholarly research relevant to their courses
- Organization and administration of one's own teaching
- The total teaching load for full-time employment is 16 hours per week per semester
- Depending on applications, a full-time position may be divided into two part-time positions
Your Qualifications:
- The successful candidate must hold a completed diploma/master's or teaching degree in English language and literature, TEFL/TESOL or an equivalent tertiary qualification in the field of ESP and applied English language teaching
- Several years of independent teaching experience in the field of English as a foreign language or English for Specific Purposes at a tertiary and/or secondary educational institution
- Experience in at least one or more of the following subject areas of specialized English language: Business English, English for Social Scientists, Medical English, English for Business Informatics, Academic Writing, Intercultural and/or Communicative Skills for Business
- Experience in developing course content for English as a foreign language as well as English for Specific Purposes, ideally also in the context of English language teacher education at tertiary level
- Some experience in teaching subject-specific courses (e.g. English linguistics, literature, cultural studies) or didactics in English language teacher education is advantageous
- Knowledge of the Austrian education system is advantageous
- International (work) experience is advantageous
- Communication, cooperation and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently
- Willingness to work in a team
- Excellent language skills in English and good language skills in German (English level C2, German level B2)

- On the basis of full-time employment (40 hours/week) the minimum salary in accordance with the collective agreement is € 3,578.80 gross per month (14 x per year, CA Job Grade: B1)
