For the Structural Neurobiology group we are looking for a
PhD Student
Functional, molecular and structural profile of neuronal circuits underlying behavior
Your tasks
- In vivo two-photon calcium imaging in behaving mice
- Histology on brain tissue for light, electron and X-ray microscopy
- Surgical procedures, e.g. cranial window implantation, perfusion, tissue extraction, sectioning
- Analyzing the functional, molecular and structural profile of neuronal circuits from the acquired data
Requirements

- Master Degree or equivalent
Your profile
- Msc or diploma degree in neuroscience, physics, engineering or related discipline
- Experience in two-photon calcium imaging, behavioural training and surgeries would be a plus
- Experience with immunohistochemistry and/or electron microscopy staining workflows would be a plus
- Experience in data analysis using Matlab or Python would be a plus
- Interest in the function and structure of neuronal circuits of the healthy and diseased brain
- You like to collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of chemists, neurobiologists, beamline scientists, physicists and engineers
