Iinternational public tender for an doctoral researcher for the pursuit of research and development activities in a view to the development of research activities in the field Food Engineering, sub-area Food Processing and Preservation - Food and Nutrition

The applicants may be national, foreign and stateless, with a doctorate degree Nutritional Sciences, Food Science and Technology, New Product Development. If the doctorate degree was awarded by a foreign higher education institution it must comply with the provisions of Decree-Law no. 66/2018, August 16.
8.1 Applicants shall be at least 18 years of age or older, not be inhibited to holding a job in the public sector nor forbidden to perform the intended position; applicants shall also be in good health and possess the psychological profile required for the job and shall meet the compulsory vaccination requirements, in accordance with Article 17 of LTFP.
8.2 - Specific requirements for admission are those defined in the 7th paragraph and previous research experience in the development of new food products, functional foods, bioactive compounds, nutritional needs. The candidate must have a minimum of 10 scientific publications in SCOPUS-indexed journals in the last 5 years and have obtained a total of at least 100 citations in SCOPUS-indexed journals in the last 5 years. They must also be proficient in English.
Additional Information
The monthly remuneration to be awarded is that of the position corresponding to level 33 of the single remuneration table in force.
9. According to article 5 of RJEC, selection is to be made based on the candidate’s scientific and curricular evaluation.
10. Scientific and curricular career evaluation is based on relevance, quality and up-to-dateness:
a) The scientific and technological production of the last five years considered most relevant by the candidate;
b) Outreach and knowledge dissemination activities carried out in the last five years, namely in the context of promoting culture and scientific practices, considered to be the most relevant by the candidate;
c) Research, extension, management and scientific guidance activities.
12. The evaluation criteria are the following:
C1 - With a weighting of 85%: Criteria for the assessment of Scientific Merit over the last five years considered most relevant by the candidate:
- Scientific production. Quality and quantity of scientific production in the field for which the competition is open (books, articles in journals, communications at conferences) expressed by the number and type of publications, and by the recognition given to it by the scientific community.
- Assessment of applied or practice-based research activities. Quality and quantity of scientific projects that you have led or participated in, in the area, financed on a competitive basis by public funds, through national or international agencies, or financed by companies.
- Research, Extension and Management Activities. Evaluating the ability to organise scientific congresses, participation as (co-)editor of journals, participation in project and article evaluation functions, presentation of guest lectures, participation in academic juries, as well as the recognition obtained through the awarding of prizes or other distinctions and their impact.
- Supervision. Evaluating the supervision of students in master's, doctoral and post-doctoral programmes.
13. The weight of each of the sub-criteria defined above will be as follows: C1) - 85%; C2) - 15%, with candidates being ranked by the assessment of their scientific and curricular background (APCC) quantified by the following expression:
APCC= C1x0,85 + C2x0,15.
The three best candidates on the resulting list will be invited to a public interview, which will take place in English or Portuguese and may be held by videoconference.
After this stage of the selection process, the three best candidates will be ranked by their final classification, resulting from the application of the following formula: CF = APCCx0.9+ENTx0.10, where ENT is the mark obtained in the interview.
