MEDICAL RESEARCHER

THE BIOMEDICAL RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF MÁLAGA NEEDS TO HIRE A PROFESSIONAL WITH THE FOLLOWING PROFILE: Medical Researcher.

Responsible Researcher: Antonio Jiménez Velasco.

Venue: IBIMA B-03 / Hematology Service of the Regional University Hospital of Málaga.

Research Line: Development of quantitative digital PCR (dPCR) as a validation method for genetic alterations detected by massive next generation sequencing (NGS).

Functions to develop:

• Database maintenance.
• Update of standardized work protocols and development of new protocols.
• Responsible for the validation of the results obtained with NGS through dPCR: design of primers and probes and control of the development of the techniques.
• Responsible for the analysis of data obtained and its publication in indexed impact journals (Journal Citation Reports).
• Responsible for the presentation of research projects in competitive calls (ISCIII, SAS, etc.).

Minimum requirements :

• Hematology Specialist Physician.
• Accredited Postgraduate Training in Molecular Genetics.

Valuable Requirements :

• Demonstrable experience in the tasks to be carried out (0.5 points per year up to a maximum of 4 points).
• Other accredited training in molecular genetics (1 point).
• Complementary training to the job (1 point).
• Minimum knowledge of English B2 (1 point).

Contract details :

• Contracting modality: Contract for scientific-technical activities (art. 23 bis of the Science and Technology Law Law 14/2011).
• Category: Principal Investigator.
• Location: Regional University Hospital of Malaga.
• Gross annual remuneration: €15,800
• Time: Partial 30% (10.5 hours per week).
• Estimated duration: The contract is linked to the duration of the financing/activity.

Selection process :

-Based on the points obtained in the merit assessment, at least the three best candidates will be selected to carry out a personal interview in which communication skills, aptitude for work and skills will be assessed, with a maximum of 3 points. Only those candidates who obtain at least 50% of the evaluable merit points will be eligible for the interview phase.

-After the resolution of the position and in the event that the selected candidate resigns from the contract, the hiring table may decide to resolve in favor of the next candidate according to the list of scores.
