Offer Description
The position is offered in the field of low – pressure plasma - based magnetron sputter deposition of functional thin films for lithium battery. More specifically, we are interested in depositing lithium titanate (LTO) films to establish the process – film property relationship. The first part of the project is dedicated to the deposition of LTO films by conventional sputtering process. The second part aims at depositing LTO coatings whose structure is controlled with nanoscale precision by setting up the magnetron process in a Glancing Angle Deposition geometry. This fundamental research study is embedded in a research program dedicated to batteries and involving several expert labs from the Walloon region in Belgium.
Requirements for candidates:
- The candidates should provide evidence of a background in
- Electrochemistry and (lithium) batteries
- Synthesis of thin films and their characterization
- Being acquainted with low-pressure plasma-based magnetron sputter deposition is an asset.
- Being fluent in English is mandatory.
- Last but not least, the personal interest to the listed research domains, the ability to self-develop, and to supervise young master/PhD students are among decisive factors.
We offer:
- A full-time position, initially for one year, but it could be renewed up to a total of three years upon positive evaluation.
- Envisaged starting date: April 2024.
To apply, please provide, in English:
- A motivation letter
- Your curriculum vitae (an official proof of English language skills is an added value)
- A list of publications
- The copy of your diplomas (if already available)
The requested documents should be sent to stephanos.konstantinidis@umons.ac.be before February 20th, entering as subject of your mail: LTO_postdoc_your name.
