ASSISTANT PROFESSOR/ ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR

Research-teaching positions

Department of Accounting and Corporate Governance

These positions include the following duties:

  • establish own area of independent research in the area of Sustainability Accounting/Finance as appropriate to the work of the Department of Accounting and Corporate Governance, ensuring a commitment to the highest standards of ethics and integrity in research,
  • participate in international collaborative research projects as appropriate to the discipline,
  • identify sources of funding and secure funding for own research programme,
  • write papers and submit for publications in leading international research journals and/or leading national/international conferences or other outputs as appropriate to the discipline,
  • teach across a range of programs at different level using appropriate teaching, learning support and assessment methods and technologies in the area of sustainability accounting and reporting,
  • supervise graduate and doctoral research students as required,
  • undertake internal roles of responsibility e.g. contribute to committees and working groups,
  • engage effectively in non-academic impact of research, including substantial knowledge or technology exchange and/or public engagement activities, involving a range of partnerships with external organisations.

 

Requirements for the candidate:

Essential:

  • for a position of assistant professor: PhD or equivalent in relevant discipline,
  • for a position of associate professor: academic degree of doctor habilitated, in the case of obtaining the academic degree of doctor at a foreign university, scientific achievements sufficient to consider the achievements as equivalent to the degrees of doctor habilitated,
  • a creative research vision for development, implementation and delivery of successful research projects,
  • an emerging track record in research in sustainability accounting and reporting commensurate with stage of career,
  • experience of teaching at undergraduate and graduate level,
  • availability to conduct classes on weekdays and weekends - according to the needs of the study program,
  • excellent interpersonal skills, communication style and team working,
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills including presentation skills (compulsory at least B2 in English determined in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, and at  least B1 in Polish is welcomed),
  • excellent organisational and administrative skills,
  • ability to form positive working relationships within the University, community, business and other partners,
  • commitment to excellence in research and teaching and to providing the highest quality experience for students,
  • commitment to working within professional and ethical codes of conduct,
  • profiles on major social media (LinkedIn, Researchgate) or readiness to set them up,
  • readiness to indicate KU as the first place of work.

 

 

Desirable:

  • professional qualifications and/or membership of professional body,
  • professional experience in the area of sustainability and sustainability accounting/finance,
  • higher education teaching qualification or professional recognition.
