Offer Description
A postdoctoral fellowship is available for the discovery of microbial natural products as drug candidates for malaria at IFSC-USP under the supervision of Prof. Rafael Guido, linked to the thematic project “The Role of Chemistry in the Adaptation of Holobionts“.
Fractions and isolated compounds in collaboration with the IQSC-USP will have their antiplasmodial profile assessed for the discovery of Plasmodium falciparum inhibitors.
We’re seeking for:
- One highly-qualified FAPESP postdoctoral fellow with experience in inhibition tests, preferably applied to parasites
This position is open to both Brazilian and foreign applicants. The selected candidate will be awarded a FAPESP Post-Doctoral Scholarship, amounting to R$ 9,047.40 per month. Additionally, a Technical Reserve equivalent to 10% of the annual scholarship value will be provided to cover unforeseen expenses directly associated with the research activity. The scholarship is granted for a duration of 24 months.

Essential Requirements
- PhD degree in chemistry, pharmacy, biology. Candidates must have obtained the degree within the last 7 years
- Outstanding record of scientific achievements (publications, patents)
- Demonstrated international experience and ability to work within multidisciplinary teams
- Good communication skills in English both written and spoken
