Professor María Morrás, established at Departament d’Humanitats, Pompeu Fabra University (Barcelona), is interested in receiving Expressions of Interest of potential candidates for the Marie Sklodowska Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship (MSCA PF) 2023 call. Her main interests are on the exploration of the history of ideas, and the role of literature in shaping and responding to intellectual and historical contexts.. The lines of research include a variety of options with special emphasis on Classical Tradition, Comparative literatures, Humanism, Translation, and Circulation of ideas and texts in Late Medieval and Early Modern Iberia (Middle Ages and Renaissance), preferably with a Digital Humanities dimension.
The Marie Sklodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships scheme (MSCA-PF) is a prestigious European funding programme that supports mobility, career development, and training within and beyond Europe. The scheme offers highly competitive salary and research costs. d its relation to political power.
About us
Prof. Morrás is associate Professor of Spanish Literature at Universitat Pompeu Fabra, (UPF Barcelona). PhD at Univ California Berkeley and at the Univ Autónoma of Barcelona. Visiting professor at Univ California Berkeley, Università di Pavia, U de Ferrara, Univ. of Pennsylvania and Univ. of Chicago; Visiting Researcher at Univ of Cambridge, Univ California Berkeley of Nottingham and Queen Mary (UCL). Her research interests focus on Iberian Middle Ages, from the reception of Classical tradition and the introduction of Humanism in 15th.-c. Spain ( Los libros de Tulio de Alfonso de Cartagena, 1996; Ética para cada día, 2000, Manifiestos del Humanismo, 2002) to cancionero poetry ( Poesía completa de Jorge Manrique, 2002), with incursions in Golden Age theater (editions of Lope de Vega's theater in 1997, 2003, 2010). Her work is oriented to the exploration of the history of ideas, and the role of literature in shaping and responding to intellectual and historical contexts. Her current research deals on forms of female sanctity and its relation to political power.
She has published also over 60 articles on textual criticism, Humanism, translations in the Middle Ages, wisdom literature, female sainthood and digital humanities in national and international journals. Editorial Boards/regular peer reviewer: Anuario Lope de Vega, Dicenda, Troianaalexandria, Revista de poética medieval, Revista de Literatura Medieval, Revista de Literatura, Cuadernos de tradução, Erasmo, La Corónica, Bulletin of Hispanic Studies, Medievalia. Member of the Scientific Board of The Mediterranean Seminar (Univ California Berkeley California, Santa Cruz-Univ. of Colorado, Boulder), Laboratorio de Innovación en Humanidades Digitales (UNED, Madrid). PI of a Project on "The Emergency of Female Authority in Spain (1400-1550): Convent and court", coordinated with R. Sanmartín, pendant of approval.
The Department of Humanities has been very successful in obtaining MSCA-PF projects: since 2015, 25 researchers have joined the Department with such contracts. Three of such projects have been coordinated by Prof. Morrás.

Additional Information
MSCA-PF are for Postdoctoral Researchers of up to 8 years after the PhD. Applicants from any country may apply, but must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in Spain for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to the submission deadline to the European Commission (11/09/2024).
Applicants should check that they fulfil all the eligibility criteria and then send an expression of interest consisting of a CV, a summary presentation of the research proposal (c. 2 pages) and the contact information of at least two referees.
Expressions of interest must be submitted by email by March 25, 2024. The title of the e-mail must be "MSCA application – Prof. María Morrás – your name and surname"
Proposals will be preselected on the basis of internal evaluation.
