Applications are invited for joint appointment as Research Assistant Professor under the Faculty of Social Sciences, Centre on Behavioral Health and Hong Kong Jockey Club Centre for Suicide Research and Prevention (Ref.: 525759), to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability. 

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Social Sciences, Sociology, Social Work or a related discipline, and at least five years of post-doctoral research experience. They should demonstrate strong competency in qualitative and quantitative data analysis and have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese.  Those with experience as Research Officer are preferred. 

The appointee will serve in a consulting capacity, providing expert statistical support to professoriate staff members for grant applications, fostering collaboration with Principal Investigators on scholarly publications, leading the development of research manuscripts with the Population Research Hub’s working paper series, and supervising the execution of research projects. 

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered.  The appointment on a fixed term will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 15% of the basic salary.  Other benefits include annual leave, medical benefits and free access to on-campus gyms and libraries.
