Offer Description
The Department of Economics and Social Sciences, Institut of Sustainable Economic Development is currently seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate (temporary replacement).
Extent of employment: 7 hours per week
Duration of employment: 8th of May 2024, limited to 7th of May 2028
Gross monthly salary and pay grade in terms of collective agreement for university staff (payable 14 times per year): B1 lit. b, € 831,70
Responsibilities:
- Independent research in the field of integrated modeling of renewable energy systems with a focus on the development and integration of energy system models in the context of inter- and transdisciplinary research
- Independent teaching in German and English in the department
- Co-supervision of master's theses and dissertations
- Collaboration in the interdisciplinary competence fields of BOKU as well as in national and international cooperation programs
- Representation of the department in a national and international context
- Active participation in the self-administration of the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna
Required skills ans qualifications:
- Doctorate degree/PhD
- Diploma degree in Environmental- and Bio-Resource Management, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics or other equivalent university degree
- Language skills: German, English
- Professional experience as a post-doc researcher
- Experience in inter- and transdisciplinary research Project management or collaboration
- Excellent practical experience in programming in Python, R or GAMS
- Proof of relevant publications in international journals
Desired skills and qualifications:
- Proven collaboration with international research groups
- Proof of international research stays
- Experience in using climate data to simulate renewable energy production
- Experience in the development of model chains (along climatic, bio-physical, ecological, economic, and social components)
- Experience in programming and using GIS-based models
- Portuguese skills
