Your tasks:

  • Support of the chair holder in research and teaching
  • Independent research in the field of the endowed professorship with the aim of a doctorate or habilitation
  • Own teaching assignments in the scope of 4 semester hours per week
  • Assistance with examination activities
  • Independent preparation and realisation of working groups and courses for students within the scope of the teaching workload
  • Independent scientific work and further training

Your profile:

In addition to the general requirements according to public services law, applicants must meet the recruitment requirements stipulated in § 57 of the Hochschulgesetz of Rhineland-Palatinate.

  • A successfully completed university degree in law (first legal examination), preferably with honours (fully satisfactory or better) and in the case of the qualification goal of habilitation, a corresponding doctorate. 
  • Proven good knowledge of German law
  • Successful completion of the legal clerkship with the second state examination is desirable. 
  • Advanced prior knowledge in the main research areas of the professorship (German and European constitutional law, in particular fundamental rights; public information law, in particular data privacy law; public security law) is also desirable. Otherwise, a willingness to familiarise yourself with these areas is expected.

Additional comments

The position is paid according to EG 13 TV-L and to be filled on 01 May 2024. The position is initially limited to a period of three years.

 

The position serves the purpose of academic qualification (doctorate / habilitation).
