Required Qualifications
- PhD in plant biotechnology, molecular biology, or a related field.
- Publications in a field related to the topic.
- Good organizational skills and experience in working in a team.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
- Experience with RNA extraction, microRNA profiling, qPCR analysis, high-throughput SNP genotyping, conventional phenotyping of cereals (manual measurements) and non-destructive automatic phenotyping (new generation), as well as high-resolution, digital root phenotyping in field conditions, next generation sequencing (NGS), high-performance liquid chromatography and high-resolution mass spectrometry (HPLC/MS) is an advantage, but not essential.
Main Responsibilities
- Conduct experiments to comprehensive elucidation of spring barley at the phenome, transcriptome, proteome and metabolome level, as well as the regulation of the interaction of phytohormones via miRNA and the explanation of the role of epidermal structures in the aspect of phenological changes - all in response to different abiotic and biotic stresses occurring individually or simultaneously.
- Analysis of greenhouse and field experiments, samples collection, samples extraction and purification for molecular and instrumental analysis, data interpretation, manuscripts preparation.
- Molecular biology techniques such: Real Time PCR analysis, high-throughput SNP genotyping, next generation sequencing (NGS), high-performance liquid chromatography and high-resolution mass spectrometry (HPLC/MS).
- Additional scientific activity (publications, conference announcements and other forms of presenting results, participation in projects, research clubs, etc.) and organizational activity (e.g. organization of workshops, trainings, conferences).
