Offer Description
Call for scholarship applications at Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science, Jagiellonian University in the "Random Walks in Geometry and Topology" project implemented within the framework of the Dioscuri Centre of Scientific Excellence.
A programme initiated by the Max Planck Society (MPG), jointly managed with the National Science Centre in Poland (NCN), and mutually funded by the Ministry of Education and Science (MEiN) and the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).

The scholarship holder might be a person who, at the time of commencement of the scholarship, is a student of second-cycle studies or master's studies, pursued at universities in Poland or a doctoral student at a Doctoral School in Poland. You don’t have to satisfy the above criteria at the moment of application, but the scholarship is conditional on obtaining the required student status by the time the appointment starts. The preferred starting date is fall 2024 or earlier.
Requirements:
• Good knowledge of theoretical mathematics at Master's level,
• Ability to work independently,
• No previous research experience is required.
Job description:
• Research work within the themes of the Dioscuri Centre,
• Publication of achieved results in scientific journals,
• Possible preparation of a PhD thesis under the supervision of Dr Mikołaj Frączyk

The monthly amount of the scholarship is PLN 5,000, and may be awarded to o a person who already receives a PhD scholarship at Doctoral School. The scholarship will be awarded initially for a period of 12 months with the possibility of extension up to 48 months. There is possibility of funding for short study trips and participation in conferences.
