Applications are invited for a temporary of a BiOrbic Public Engagement Coordinator within School of Biomolecular and Biomedical Science
BiOrbic SFI Bioeconomy Research Centre is seeking a Public Engagement Coordinator to be responsible for the centre's public engagement activities.
Reporting to the Head of Public Engagement and Communications, the Public Engagement Coordinator will implement and expand BiOrbic's public engagement programme and will meet the Centre's targets with regards to public engagement. An initial focus will be on organising and facilitating public stakeholder discussion events, which will inform the Centre's research programme. The appointee will be responsible for working with researchers to co-design these events and to organise them for each research Challenge team. In the medium and long term, the Public Engagement Coordinator will continue to co-design the public engagement programme with BiOrbic's Challenge teams as the research programme develops. They will also be required to both design and leverage additional public engagement opportunities to achieve the Centre's broader engagement goals. This role will work within BiOrbic's Education, Public Engagement and Communications team, as well as the wider Operations team. She/he/they will engage with the Centre's research staff across multiple institutions, as well as with its external partners. Good project management and relationship building skills, as well as the ability to deliver and meet targets will be essential to this role.
BiOrbic is Ireland's national bioeconomy research centre performing challenge-based research, including both blue skies and industry focused research to build and support the development of Ireland's bioeconomy. BiOrbic is an SFI Research Centre bringing together a team of researchers from across Ireland and across a range of disciplines including biotechnology, systems and synthetic biology, chemistry, chemical and bioprocess engineering, agri-food, agriculture, animal and human nutrition, marine, business and social sciences
Salary Range: €50,000 - €55,000 per annum.
Appointment on the above range will be dependent upon qualifications and experience.
