Job profile:
University Assistant - PhD Position (20 hours per week - with the submission of the dissertation agreement, the employment extent will be increased to 30 hours per week), Department of Design, Structure and Design / i.sd starting from February 01, 2024. Main responsibilities: Dissertation work in the field of Structure and Design / Digital Design Methods and AI in Architecture; teaching courses to architecture students upon request; participation in teaching and supervision of final theses; contribution to the preparation of teaching outcomes for exhibitions and publications; attendance at conferences and further training; administrative tasks. Required qualifications: completed diploma or master's degree in architecture; excellent skills in architectural design, conceptual design thinking, and digital design strategies, extensive understanding of the interplay between design, structure, and materialization; in-depth knowledge of architectural discourse. Prior knowledge in the field of digital modeling, data-based modeling, and machine learning is desirable. Applicants' competencies must be clearly demonstrated through a very detailed design portfolio provided via download link. Excellent English language skills are a must; strong teamwork and communication skills and a great interest in collaborating with students; written considerations on a dissertation project (in the areas of Digital Design Methods and AI in Architecture) should be included; applicants with international teaching and/or professional experience are preferred; social competence, strong teamwork and communication skills, and a great interest in collaborating with students.
