Offer Description

LUCET investigates the lexical, morphological and syntactic complexity of Italian and its relations with the processing difficulties encountered by students with typical and atypical development attending the last year of High School. The successful candidate will collaborate in the preparation of experimental materials to evaluate complexity in written texts in both production and comprehension, the coding of collected data, and the analysis of results. The research will analyse complexity at both the sentential level (with subordination: completive, relative, cleft sentences, and marked word order: passive sentences, sentences with topicalizations and focalizations) and the nominal level (complex determiners, quantifiers, partitive constructions).

The interview aims to ascertain competence on the following topics:

  • Knowledge of the latest developments in syntactic theory and typical and atypical language acquisition;
  • Discussion of prior research experiences;
  • Italian language assessment for foreign candidate(s);
  • Assessment of English foreign language proficiency.

Benefits

The research fellowship amounts to 19,367 Euros per year, including taxes and social charges.

The selection is made through evaluation of candidates' scientific and professional qualifications, curriculum vitae, scientific production, followed by an interview

Selection process

Short-listed candidates will be invited for interview on March 22, 2024 at 10 in the Department of linguistics and comparative cultural studies, Ca’ Bernardo, Dorsoduro 3199, 3rd floor.
The short-list of the candidates admitted to the interview, or any postponement, will be published on the University’s webpage on March 15, 2024
