The Department of Information and Communications Technologies of the public Pompeu Fabra University, Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain, invites applications for a tenure track faculty position.

The candidate should hold a PhD in computer science and have a strong background  and previous experience in both teaching and research in the areas of "Computer Graphics and Physically-Based Rendering."

A successful candidate should lead research projects with social and economic impact. Interdisciplinary research is encouraged. The candidate should demonstrate outstanding experience in outreach and knowledge transfer to other institutions, companies and the public sector.

Teaching excellence will be highly considered (such as proved through students' evaluations, etc.), as well as expertise in courses related to Computer Graphics, Ray-Tracing, Quasi-Monte Carlo and Bayesian Probabilistic Approaches for Ray-Tracing i Machine Learning Approaches for Computer Graphics, both at the undergraduate and master level. Previous experience in professional service will also be valued, as the candidate might be required to assume some management responsibilities.

The candidate must have a PhD (or equivalent) in computer science or a closely related field; preferably have a strong background in Computer Graphics and Physically-Based Rendering.

The candidate must have a solid research track record and show promise for excellence in teaching. Teaching excellence will be highly valued, as will experience in first-year engineering courses and courses related to Computer Graphics, Ray-Tracing, Quasi-Monte Carlo and Bayesian Probabilistic Approaches for Ray-Tracing i Machine Learning Approaches for Computer Graphics and mentoring students at undergraduate and graduate levels.

Also should have a strong background in all areas of Computer Graphics and Physically-Based Rendering that integrate well with the educational needs of the department. For example, to have publications in journals indexed in JCR Q1 at leading conferences in Computer Graphics and to have previous experience collaborating with international researchers on publications or competitive research projects.

Aspects of scientific excellence such as the impact of the candidate's publications, as first author, Marie-Curie individual grants, Serra Húnter Excellence programs will be highly valued. Certificate I3, and Consolidation Scholarships.

Although the priority is the Degree in Audiovisual Systems Engineering, the candidate must demonstrate the ability to work in other areas that complement well with the department's research (in multimedia, biomedical engineering, machine learning, artificial intelligence, systems digital audiovisual technologies, or data science).

The candidate must demonstrate the ability to attract external funding and the potential to secure partnerships or consultancies with the private sector. It is desirable that the candidate demonstrates leading research projects with social and economic impact.

It will be positively assessed if the candidate has a minimum of two years of previous professional experience abroad, and if they have participated in at least one competitive research project as the main researcher.

The candidate must demonstrate outstanding experience in the dissemination and transfer of knowledge to other institutions, companies and the public sector.

Gross annual salary: 41.239,66€
