Offer Description

Are you interested in supporting research on the digital society and contributing to valorization on the topic?

Prof. dr. Jessica Piotrowski is searching for a junior researcher to support her ongoing work on the topic, including existing and new research on digital competence and artificial intelligence, particularly as it relates to youth.

You will be responsible for

  1. Conducting literature reviews and managing reference software;
  2. Conducting pre-registration and analyses of multiple wave cohort data, including implementing on advanced techniques for persona-based analyses;
  3. Supporting the development and piloting of research measures;
  4. Visualizing data trends for reporting;
  5. Collaborating on scientific papers on this topic following the principles of open science;
  6. Managing the day-to-day aspects of the ongoing research programmes

Requirements

Specific Requirements
  • Research Master’s degree in Communication Science or related field;
  • Advanced quantitative skills, particularly comfortable with latent class analysis; cluster analysis; and psychometric assessment;
  • Demonstrated experience working with R;
  • Affinity with the topic of youth’s digital competence; artificial intelligence; and the opportunities and challenges of the digital society;
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Ability and interest in supporting all aspects of the research process, including but not limited to literature review; data analysis; concept writing; stimuli development; data collection; etc.;
  • Experience with the practice of open science;
  • Independent, 'making things work' mentality;
  • Excellent command of English; Dutch language skills a plus

Benefits

The position concerns temporary employment for 0.6 FTE. It is available immediately and ends December 31, 2024. The gross income depends on experience with a minimum of €3226 to a maximum of €5090 (UFO profile researcher 4; scale 10) in accordance with the Collective Labor Agreement for Dutch Universities. We additionally offer an extensive package of secondary benefits, including 8% holiday allowance and a year-end bonus of 8.3%.
