Offer Description
This project aims to explore the linguistic, translational, and cultural strategies that, since the 16th century, guided the Jesuits in interpreting classical Chinese texts. The project involves analyzing the primary Chinese sources upon which the Jesuits based their translations, as well as a thorough examination of the strategies employed to assimilate a rich philosophicalreligious lexicon rooted in values divergent from Greco-Latin traditions. Additionally, support is needed for the digitalization process of the Chinese and Jesuit-Latin corpora

Additional Information
The research fellowship amounts to 19.367,00 Euros per year, including taxes and social charges.
