Offer Description
Context And Mission
The Computational Social Science programme envisions preparing social sciences and humanities for the era of data, simulations, and artificial intelligence (AI). Our mission is to foster collaboration between social scientists and computer scientists, making high-performance computing (HPC) accessible to all researchers in the field. Through innovative approaches, we aim to apply social science research to contribute valuable insights for informed policy-making.
In our pursuit, we focus on key research areas such as Demography, Democracy Quality, Socioeconomic Impact of Climate Change, Social Innovation, and History/Cultural Heritage. Employing statistical models, AI/machine learning, Large Language Models (LLMs), and agent-based simulations, our innovative methods are applied to diverse datasets from national statistics, surveys, social media, news, historical archives, qualitative data, citizens' volunteered data, government and industry data.
As the Scientific Coordinator/Senior Researcher, you will play a pivotal role in advancing the programme's objectives, working closely with Mercè Crosas, Head of Computational Social Science.
