Offer Description

The laboratory, led by Mr. Negroni, is implementing new approaches to virotherapies that specifically target cancer cells responsible for treatment resistance and recurrence in the context of currently incurable cancers. The project is part of a CNRS Innovation funding initiative aimed at advancing these studies towards industrial valorization.

Design and construction of expression plasmids for recombinant viruses.
Protein engineering.
Cell culture: production of viruses and viral vectors, culture of cancer cell models, viral transduction and infection, directed evolution.
Communication with industrial valorization stakeholders, document writing, and report preparation.
Welcoming and training of interns.

The Institut de Biologie Moléculaire et Cellulaire (IBMC) of the CNRS brings together three research units focusing on the molecular study of biological phenomena with or without links to human health. The candidate will be recruited in one of the UPR9002 teams, the Retroviruses and Molecular Evolution team (headed by Matteo Negroni). The unit is equipped to carry out experiments without technical limitations, thanks to BSL2 laboratories, a recent FACS and epifluorescence microscopes. The laboratory will also benefit from the environment of excellence provided by the InnoVec ITI.
The candidate will benefit from a stimulating environment thanks to multiple academic and industrial collaborations (Dr Monique Dontenwill, Faculty of Pharmacy, Illkirch, co-developer of the project), Dr Yves Gaudin, Paris-Saclay, (Transgène, Illkirch), enabling intellectual fulfillment on diversified aspects.

Additional Information

Eligibility criteria

PhD in Molecular and Cellular Biology.
The candidate must have a good knowledge of molecular biology tools for plasmid design and construction, and of the fundamentals of structural biology for protein engineering. Experience in cell culture (working in BSL2, proficiency of microscopy tools and software required for analysis, FACS) is mandatory, with the ability to develop transduction and viral infection protocols. Expertise in cell line creation would be appreciated.
Supervision of trainees is expected: an interest for transmitting knowledge and teaching skills would be a plus.
