Offer Description
You will be embedded within the LISCO-affiliated Translational Cell and Tissue Research unit headed by Prof. Francesca Bosisio and Prof. Frederik De Smet at KULeuven. There will be a strong focus on technology development/practical implementation of new spatial, single-cell multiomic readouts (with an initial focus on integrating protein and RNA based readouts), optimisation and benchmarking of protocols, and finally implemention of their use in a service mode towards the users of our platform. You will have the opportunity to work in a young, dynamic and interdisciplinary team that brings together bio-informaticians, clinicians, pathologists and molecular biologists. Therefore, we offer a full time 2-year postdoc position within our team. The ability to apply for additional fellowship is an additional plus. During this time, you will also receive the chance to strategically shape the future of this exciting domain. You will have a multifaceted role that involves various tasks aimed at advancing and innovating technologies within our field.
More specific tasks are:
- Adapting to emerging technologies: Keeping track of and reviewing existing and emergingtechnologies, identify gaps, and build a foundation for new technology development/implementation. Follow new developments in related fields and incorporating cutting-edge technologies into the research project as appropriate.
- Experimental Design: Designing, planning, executing, and analysing experiments to test hypotheses and validate the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed technology or workflow.
- Prototyping: Developing prototypic workflows or proof-of-concept models to demonstrate the practicality and functionality of the technology under investigation.
- Data Collection and Analysis: Process the collected data to analyze results and draw conclusions torefine the technology. A close collaboration with our bioinformatics team will be key.
- Collaboration: Collaborating with other researchers, both within and outside LISCO, to leverage complementary expertise and resources.
- Project Management: Managing the day-to-day aspects of the various research projects, including timelines, budgets, and resources.
- Presentation: Presenting research findings at conferences, workshops, and seminars to share knowledge and ... For more information see https://www.kuleuven.be/personeel/jobsite/jobs/60299367
