Offer Description

In relation to the opening of competition, the Department of Non-Ferrous Metal Forming and Metal Science at Faculty of Non-Ferrous Metals is searching for an employee for the position of research assistant. The employee's main tasks will be to conduct research in the field of continuous casting process of non-ferrous metals, in particular copper and its alloys, research on the physical and chemical properties of non-ferrous metals and the die forging process. Additionally, the employee will be involved in the implementation of research projects in cooperation with external industrial companies.

Skills/Qualifications

 

  1. Doctor title in the field of technical and engineering science in Material Science discipline,
  2. documented experience in the implementation of R&D projects in the field of production and processing technology of non-ferrous metals and their alloys, in particular related to the process of continuous casting of copper and its alloys and die forging processes (minimum of 5),
  3. documented experience in conducting research ordered from industrial companies in the field of materials engineering,
  4. scientific contribution documented by publications and/or patents in the field of metallurgical synthesis, continuous casting and die forging of copper and their alloys (minimum of 10),
  5. documented utilitarian scientific achievements (authorship/co-authorship of patents/industrial designs; implementation of technologies or new products in the non-ferrous metals industry), in particular related to the process of continuous casting of copper and its alloys and die forging (minimum of 3),
  6. documented scientific internship in a research unit and/or industrial internship in a manufacturing company in the non-ferrous metals industry,
  7. ability to comprehensively operate laboratory installations for continuous casting, die forging and equipment for testing of non-ferrous metals material properties,
  8. documented active participation in domestic and foreign scientific/technical conferences and scientific symposia in the field of materials engineering of non-ferrous metals (minimum of 10),
  9. documented knowledge of English language (at least at B-2 level),
  10. exemplary ethical attitude,
  11.  predispositions for teaching work.
Specific Requirements

Candidates who have an experience in laboratory and industrial continuous casting and die forging processes of non-ferrous metals (in particular copper and its alloys) and research on the physical and chemical properties of non-ferrous metals will be preferred.
