Offer Description
One vacant position for a full-time university assistant (m/f/d) at the Chair of Electrical Engineering at the Department Physics, Mechanics and Electrical Engineering. Start from the earliest possible date in an employment contract limited to four year. Salary Group B1 of the Austrian labor agreement, monthly minimum excl. supplements Euro 3.277,30 for 40 hours per week (14 times a year), actual classification is according to previous relevant experience
We are looking for..:
..talented, motivated, and innovative staff to join our team at the Chair of Electrical Engineering. We seek individuals interested in working in an academic environment on power electronic solutions of tomorrow.
As a university assistant in the field of power electronics, you will undertake the following responsibilities:
Support in teaching at the chair
Participation/support in scientific projects
Derivation of specifications and concept development in accordance with project requirements
Development of mathematical models, such as losses of active and passive components, and thermal design in power electronics
Validation of the functionality of power electronic solutions using hardware-in-the-loop methods
Development of power electronic reference systems and corresponding validation in the power electronics laboratory
Preparation and publication of project results
Requirements:
Degree in Electrical Engineering from a technical university, or a degree in Energy Engineering (with an electrical engineering focus) from a technical university, or a degree in Mechanical Engineering (with an electrical engineering emphasis) from a technical university
Solid mathematical knowledge
Willingness and ability to create and conduct high-quality teaching in the field of electrical engineering, especially in fundamentals, electrical power engineering, and/or power electronics
Proficiency in German at least at B2 level (recommended C1 to interact with students during lectures). Confident presentation skills in both spoken and written German, additionally in some subjects in English
Ability to work in a team
Interest and enthusiasm for the topic of power electronics
Willingness and capability for research work, including associated publishing activities in English, with the possibility of writing a dissertation.
Relevant additional qualifications:
Power electronics and electrical drive technology
Circuit development, simulation, realization, and commissioning of power electronic systems and associated signal electronics.
Technical regulations, renewable electrical energy, signal processors, and their programming.
Proficiency in higher programming languages with practical experience.
