Offer Description
Internationally recognized generalist engineering school of the IMT (Institut Mines-Télécom), leading French engineering school (Technological University), IMT Atlantique aims to support transitions, train responsible engineers, and use scientific excellence to serve teaching, research and innovation.
As part of the ADIOS project, which aims to propose a mathematical solution for the prediction of eddy displacements in the oceans, we are recruiting a post-doctoral fellow in Mathematics applied to operational oceanography in our Mathematical and Electrical Engineering (MEE) department.
In collaboration with the project team, you will design and develop Machine Learning models for the representation of eddies in simple parametric form, and compare forecast results with satellite observations.
In addition, you will contribute to the project's deliverables by writing reports, participating in dissemination and valorization activities and attending project meetings.

Requirements

You have a sound knowledge of statistics and machine learning, Python and libraries for data manipulation.
You have good writing skills (French/English) and good oral communication skills.
You are rigorous, autonomous, enjoy working as part of an interdisciplinary team and are able to show initiative.
A PhD obtained less than 3 years prior to the date of hire in applied mathematics (e.g. AI, machine learning, statistics) or climate science (including oceanography and meteorology) is required.
