Applications are invited for a temporary post of a Research Assistant within School of Public Health Physiotherapy and Sports Science.
PROMINENCE Project Aim:
To build obesity education capacity within the Physiotherapy profession across the EU. The project will promote INTERCONNECTED HIGHER EDUCATION SYSTEMS with five EU Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and the European Region of the World Confederation of Physical Therapy collaborating from project outset. All Partner Organisations have agreed to documented project roles with specific deliverables.
PROMINENCE Project objectives:
To explore the published evidence base for healthcare professional education regarding obesity with a specific focus on key competencies, learning needs and recommended curriculum content.
To explore EU Physiotherapy educator knowledge, perceptions and attitudes towards obesity and practices in obesity education.
To develop the PROMINENCE OBESITY COMPETENCY FRAMEWORK for Physiotherapy professional education programmes in the EU.
To establish the transnational PROMINENCE CONSORTIUM regarding obesity and metabolic rehabilitation education for Physiotherapists across Higher Education in the EU.
To develop the PROMINENCE OPEN EDUCATION RESOURCE to facilitate implementation of evidence based obesity education in Physiotherapy programmes across the EU. This will incorporate the PROMINENCE OBESITY COMPETENCY FRAMEWORK, learning outcomes, curriculum and existing and newly generated learning resources.
Research Assistant Fixed Salary: €30,025 per annum pro rata (0.4fte)
Appointment on the above range will be dependent on qualifications and experience
