Academic Staff Member - Assistant Professor for the Department of Forest Ecology
Research field: forest ecology, dendrology, forest typology and bioclimatology
We are a modern university, teaching and researching agriculture, forestry, economic and technical disciplines in regional and international contexts. Since 2018, we have been the holder of the HR Excellence in Research Award for improving employee care, awarded to us as the first Czech university by the European Commission.
At present, the scientific activities of the department focus on the issues of biogeochemical cycles, primary and secondary production of forest ecosystems. With our project partners, the department participates in resolving issues of global change, such as the stress reaction of trees, the re-introduction of large carnivores, and the study of the population ecology of arthropods and small mammals. The department also manages the Rájec – Němčice ecosystem station, which is used for the FFWT educational and scientific activities. Free position is within the team focused on primary producers and their response to environmental conditions.
What will you do?
- active involvement in the teaching of subjects taught at the department
- involvement in scientific tasks within the department
- work in the office, laboratories and field
- independent solution of given scientific questions
- publication of results in journals with IF
- active submission of project applications and involvement in resolved projects at the department
What are our requirements?
- a university degree at Ph.D. level in forest phytology, forest ecology, forest cultivation, nature conservation, etc.
- experience in description and detailed inventory of forest ecosystems
- experience in the field
- knowledge of statistical methods in research
- WoS publications in the field of forest ecology - primary producers and their growth response to external conditions
- experience in managing international or national projects as principal investigator or co-investigator
- excellent knowledge of Czech, ability to teach and publish in English
- participation in national and international conferences
- active participation in workshops and courses
- active driving of a car (driving licence of group B)
