Offer Description
The Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ) is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher. This position will be funded partially by the project PCI2020-120693-2 financed by MCIN/AEI/10.13039/501100011033 and by the European union "NextGeneration EU"/PRTR.
ICIQ is one of the world’s internationally recognized leading institutions in the field of chemistry committed to solving major social and economic challenges by conducting top quality research in three main areas: SustainableCatalysis, Renewable Energy and Health. ICIQ is looking for a Postdoctoral Researcher to work in the group of Prof. Beatriz Prieto.
Responsibilities
- Read and review literature and undertake relevant research;
- Fabrication and functionalisation of porous semiconductor structures;
- Design and optimisation of multiplexed biosensing strategies;
- Optimisation of the electrochemical detection of key host immune response-derived biomarkers;
- Report writing;
- Attend meetings to discuss the progress of the project;
- Produce papers and presentations of the highest quality;
- Undertake supervision and training of intern, and PhD students as requested by the research leader;
- Maintain professional and ethical standards in the conduct of research, especially in observing research and intellectual property protocols established by the ICIQ.
Requirements
- A PhD qualification in the field of chemistry, materials science or a related discipline, combined with demonstrated research experience in electrochemical biosensing and micro/nanofabrication;
- Sound knowledge and expertise in surface analysis and immunoassays;
- Demonstrated contribution to knowledge in the fields as evidenced by a publication record in high ranking, international refereed journals;
- High level written communication and presentation skills, as well as demonstrated experience in producing high quality technical and scientific documentation independently for dissemination to audiences of both experts and laypersons;
- High level interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively with research colleagues and external associates in a multidisciplinary environment.

- A full-time 3-year contract.
- Remuneration according to individual’s qualifications/experience
- Annual salary split in twelve monthly payments
