Offer Description
KEY WORDS: Medicago truncatula, ABCG transporters, phytohormones, membrane transport, seed germination, genetic engineering, confocal microscopy.
Principal Investigator: Prof. dr hab. Michał Jasiński
Research topic: We would like to offer the position of Assistant Professor (Post-Doc) within the OPUS 24 project (2022/47/B/NZ9/00443) entitled "Characterization of full size ABCG transporters present in Medicago truncatula seeds.”, funded by the National Science Center. With consideration of recent findings that ABC transporters may be involved in translocation of phytohormones as well as observed their organ specialization we aim at detailed studies of Medicago selected ABCG transporters with a special emphasis on function of these proteins in seed development. By broad and multiple analyses including reverse genetic, genetic manipulation, in vitro cultures, comprehensive transcriptomic/metabolomic approaches and membrane transport experiments we would like to decipher how action of them impacts readout of phytohormones signaling during seed development/maturation/germination in Medicago truncatula.
IBCH PAS is one of the leading research unites in Poland, specialized in chemistry, molecular biology and also plant biology, with the access to cutting-edge technologies.
I. Requirements for the candidate:
- A PhD degree (or equivalent) in molecular biology, bioinformatics, biotechnology, biochemistry.
- Knowledge of molecular biology techniques.
- Well-documented research output in the form of research papers published in recognizable research journals listed in the Web of Science database.
- Experience in phytohormones research and/or plant genetics.
- Strong motivation and commitment to the project implementation.
- Good command of English enabling efficient communication and preparation of research papers.
The offer is intended for experienced researchers, holding at least a PhD degree in biology. The position is dedicated especially to those candidates who are experienced in plant physiology, phytohormones signaling, metabolomics analyses and/or genetic engineering of plants.
