Join us in taking gene and cell therapy technologies from concept to clinic! The National Institute of Chemistry (NIC) invites you to become a key part of our team as a project coordinator for the Centre for the Technologies of Gene and Cellular Therapy (CTGCT).
The CTGCT is a unique project to develop the infrastructure associated with the development of gene and cell therapy technologies, working with international partners from prestigious institutions that are key to the development of therapies for cancer and rare genetic diseases. The project addresses new treatment approaches, promotes international collaboration between researchers and brings together patients, clinicians and researchers.

As coordinator, you will coordinate and manage the collaboration between the partners of the project mainly funded by the European Union (Horizon Europe), and assist the project team in identifying new international projects in the field of cancer immunotherapy development and rare gene therapies. Working directly with the project leader, you will be an integral part of the NIC team in the implementation of the CTGCT project.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the Horizon Europe project, assembling technical and financial reports.
- Liaise with the CI Group and CTGCT, fostering links and reporting internally and externally on the progress of the project.
- Co-ordinate events, workshops, and foster co-operation between stakeholders.
- Provide technical support for project implementation and prepare reports.
- Identifying project opportunities and preparing proposals in support of the CTGCT.
- Contribute to the formulation of CTGCT policy on international projects.
- Organisation of the assigned area.
- Liaise with external bodies.
- Other work as directed by the supervisor.
The candidate's qualifications:
- At least 3 years of experience in project/programme management or international academic research cooperation.
- Expertise in European projects, preferably with a legal background and contract management skills.
- Knowledge of research ethics, open science and responsible research practices.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
- Preference will be given to professionals with a PhD and experience in EU project management.
