Applications are invited for a Temporary post of an UCD Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 1 or 2 within UCD School of Biomolecular and Biomedical Science

This is a research focused role, where you will conduct a specified programme of research supported by research training and development under the supervision and direction of a Principal Investigator.

The primary purpose of the role is to further develop your research skills and competences, including the processes of publication in peer-reviewed academic publications, the development of funding proposals, the mentorship of graduate students along with the opportunity to develop your skills in research led teaching.

Position Summary:

University College Dublin (UCD) is seeking a highly motivated candidate for the postdoctoral research fellow position with previous exposure in translational cancer research projects using computational pathology, omics approaches, and artificial intelligence. The candidate will have the opportunity to work closely with Precision Oncology Ireland's Tissue Imaging Platform (POI, a Science Foundation Ireland Strategic Partnership Programme). The platform focuses on running large-scale, multi-disciplinary collaborative translational research projects using digital and computational pathology to develop quantitative and artificial intelligence (AI)-based strategies to advance precision medicine and current pathology practice. Expertise and prior experience in biomarker research in translational/clinical oncology, particularly in the field of cancer and immuno-oncology will be preferred. Publications, patents, or similar outputs demonstrating experience in the required domain will be highly valued.

This Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) funded position will be based in the UCD Conway Institute of Biomolecular and Biomedical Research (https://www.ucd.ie/conway/). He/she will report to Prof. William Gallagher/Prof. Arman Rahman. This opportunity is an excellent chance for candidates to strengthen their research skills and competencies. It involves publishing in peer-reviewed academic publications, developing funding proposals, mentoring graduate students, and developing research-led teaching skills.

Post Doc Level 2 Salary Range: €50,540 - €54,965

Post Doc Level 1 Salary range: €42,782 - €49,177 per annum

Appointment on the above range will be dependent on qualifications and experience.
