Offer Description
This international call aims at filling three positions to develop Science and Technology management and communication activities in the scientific area of Social Sciences and Humanities, under a fixed term contract of employment in public functions for a three years period, aiming at:
• Collaborating in the implementation of FCT’s science funding instruments;
• Following scientific and technological evaluation processes, in particular in the context of calls for applications;
• Promoting international cooperation with other funding agencies, with an emphasis on the European Area (ERA);
· Participate in the management and development of joint programming initiatives, such as European Partnerships, as well as supporting the coordination of thematic/geographical networks in the area of science, technology and research;
• Collaborating in the analysis and studies in the areas of: scientific peer review within funding agencies, ex-post evaluation of financing instruments, strategic analysis of the scientific and technological system;
• Contributing to the internationalization of the scientific and technological system;
• Organizing dissemination actions to the scientific community and other stakeholders;
• Contributing to the promotion of science in society, in the framework of open science.

Applicants may be Portuguese citizens, foreigners and stateless candidates who are holders of doctoral degrees in the scientific area of Social Sciences and Humanities and have a scientific and professional curriculum that shows a profile appropriate to the activities to be developed. If the doctoral degree has been conferred by a foreign higher education institution, it must be recognized for, under Decree-Law no. 66/2018, of 16th August, amended by Decree-Law no. 86/2023, of 10th October.
General requirements for admission to this call are those defined in article 17 of the LTFP, and special requirements are as defined in the previous paragraph and the scientific and professional curriculum of the candidates must show the following profile:
· Experience in management and communication activities in science and technology
· Experience in research activities after the conclusion of the PhD
· Relevant experience in multidisciplinary and international environment, namely in the management of European projects;
· Knowledge of the scientific and technological system, its organization and actors;
· Knowledge of the initiatives and instruments of the European Researh Area;
· Knowledge of the Programmes within the international relations of the European Union and other geographical regions;
· Excellent fluency in spoken and written English
· Knowledge about the process of applications and funding awarding in competitive tenders and calls;
· Initiative, communication to the public and interpersonal skills;
· Sense of responsibility and competences to integrate, collaborate and work in team environment;
· High autonomy and excellent planning and organization skills to meet deadlines;
· Ability to develop tasks autonomously and proactively.
