Job Description

TeWhiwhinga mahi | The opportunity

We are looking for a Lecturer who will undertake high quality teaching/lecturing and high-quality research in mathematics, in any area of Mathematics or Applied Mathematics. This lectureship is, in part, in support of a new joint degree programme with North Eastern University in China. The successful candidate is expected to teach into this programme, including hybrid delivery from Auckland and in person in China.

You will be expected to teach/lecture at both undergraduate level (including teaching courses to non-mathematics majors) and at postgraduate level. You must be able to course coordinate, develop course materials and design new courses, as well as, teach as part of a team.

The successful applicant will be expected to establish their own research programme in mathematics or applied mathematics, supervise postgraduate/PhD research students, and be a collegial, constructive member of the mathematics department.

Finally, the applicant will also be required to perform administrative service roles for the Department of Mathematics and for the Faculty of Science.

The position is available with a start date from 1st July 2024.

This is a full-time (40 hours per week), permanent position

Remuneration: L1-L7, $94,981-$113,463 per annum
