Job description:PhD Student (f/m/d) Plasmonics in Group IV Semiconductors (project funded by the German Research Foundation DFG)
With cutting-edge research in the fields of ENERGY, HEALTH and MATERIALS, around 1,500 employees from more than 70 nations at Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf (HZDR) are committed to mastering the great challenges facing society today.
The Institute for Ion Beam Physics and Materials Research is dedicated to the study of materials and their nanostructures that can be considered for future applications in information technology and are based on electrical, magnetic or optical functionalities.
The Department of Semiconductor Materials is looking for a PhD Student (f/m/d) Plasmonics in Group IV Semiconductors. The project is funded through the German Research Foundation (DFG).
Your tasks
# Design of ion implantation and annealing experiments for alloying and doping
# Clean room fabrication of the plasmonic and optoelectronic devices
# Measurement and characterization of the optoelectronic properties of the devices
# Understanding of the experimental results and writing of scientific reports/publications, as well as discussion of the experiments with our collaborating partners
# Attendance at conferences and meetings
Your profile
# Completed university studies (Master/Diploma) in the field of Physics, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering or related field
# Strong background in spectroscopy, plasmonics and semiconductor physics
# Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in an international research team
# Very good communication skills in English (written and spoken)
