Call for one Research Initiation Grant (BI) – MITE

MSc in Biology, Genetics, Biotechnology, or related fields.

1. Being enrolled in a postgraduate or doctoral program in the field of Biology, Genetics, or related areas; 2. Alignment of the candidate's education and experience with the objectives of the work to be carried out; 3. Experience in Molecular Biology (DNA extraction, primer development, PCR technique, sequencing); 4. Proficiency in the English language (both written and oral communication) will be considered a plus. This grant will have a duration of 12 months (with the possibility of renewal up to 24 months).

The fellow will benefit fromagrant of 1.199,64€ as per the table of remuneration of FCT,I.P.. The fellow will also benefit frompersonalaccident insurance, and if not included in any social security protocol, may adhere to the PortugueseSocialSecurity through the Seguro Social Voluntário (Voluntary Social Security), in the terms present inthePortuguese Código dos Regimes Contributivos do Sistema Previdencial de Segurança Social. Themonthlygrant will be paid by bank transfer.

Note: The jury may choose not to award the scholarship if the candidate's score is below 9.5 points. Preference will be given to candidates interested in doctoral program enrolment.

Documents proving the ownership of academic degrees or diplomas, or enrollment in an academic degree or diploma, may be dispensed with during the application stage, being replaced by a declaration of honor by the candidate, although substantiation of this condition is mandatory during the grant contracting stage.
Academic degrees obtained in foreign countries require recognition by a Portuguese Institutioninaccordancewith Decree-Law No. 66/2018, of August 16th and Ordinance No. 33/2019, of January 25th.Thepresentationof the recognition is mandatory for the signing of the contract.
