Offer Description
We are looking for a junior Postdoc in the field of lattice modelling. The aim is to model a sulfur concrete material as it heats up, in collaboration with a PhD student who is doing the experimental work. We are considering a lattice model for solid and cracked materials, and the application of localized heating.
The position is available for a highly motivated Postdoc who wish to join the BATir department and the group on Sustainable Structural Design headed by Prof. Didier Snoeck (ULB, Belgium). You are expected to conduct the modelling of the novel material, backed by previous experience in lattice modelling.
Job profile
The candidate needs to have a background (PhD) in the topics on construction and building materials, and lattice modelling. Above all, applicants should have a high interest in scientific research; an independent and well-organized working style, demanding high quality of your own work; well-developed social skills directed towards working in an interdisciplinary team, excellent interpersonal and communicative skills; strong motivation to succeed in scientific research, excellent presentation and scientific writing skills, excellent English language skills (verbally and written).
Duration
The total Postdoc time is 1-year, with the option to apply for local funding.
Type of scholarship
It is a scholarship for a starting Postdoc. This junior Postdoc position is taking place in the framework of an ARC (Actions de recherche concertées consolidation 2022-2025) project. The type of scholarship stipulates <2yrs mobility in Belgium during the last 3 years.
Starting date
As soon as possible, preferably March 2024, no later than June 2024.
