Associate Professor (Polish: “Adiunkt”) and Head of the Department of Pharmacokinetics and Drug Metabolism

A candidate for the position of an Associate Professor (Polish: “Adiunkt”) and Head of the Department of Pharmacokinetics and Drug Metabolism, Maj Institute of Pharmacology Polish Academy of Sciences, must fulfil the following requirements:

1. Professor’s or habilitated doctor degree (Polish: tytuł profesora lub stopień doktora
   habilitowanego) or equivalent in the field of medical sciences or pharmaceutical sciences or a related discipline;
2. Extensive experience in research on pharmacokinetics and psychotropic drug metabolism, the role of cytochrome P450-dependent metabolism in psychopharmacology and drug therapy evidenced in outstanding scientific publication record in this areas;
3. Experience in research on the brain’s cytochrome P450 aligned with the Institute’s research priorities and focused on central nervous system pharmacology;
4. Outstanding research track, at least 3 original research papers with first or corresponding authorship written and published after the defense of the PhD thesis and not related to doctoral thesis;
5. Experience in mentoring junior researchers and students;
6. Established track of successful grant applications with positive final evaluations;
7. Experience in development of international collaborations;
8. Impeccable character;
9. Perfect command of spoken and written English.

ADDITIONAL ADVANTAGE WOULD BE:

1. Proficiency in Polish.

8. Contact details of persons who have agreed to provide references for the candidate and gave explicit consent to be contacted in the context of this position;
9. A certificate of English language proficiency, if available;
10. A statement declaring primary place of employment and affiliation (Appendix 3 to the Announcement);

The selection process will first evaluate formal requirements and then proceed to assess the candidates’ capabilities.  The evaluation committee may decide to invite a candidate for an interview.

The evaluation committee reserves the right to contact only selected candidates and will not return the documents submitted. The application process may be voided at the Institute’s Director discretion.
