Offer Description
Tasks to be performed:
- Improvement of existing audio processing algorithms available in the Essentia library, and development of new algorithms.
- Development of new state-of-the-art machine learning models for music analysis and integration of existing ones into Essentia audio analysis software, especially for automatic semantic tagging by genre, mood and instrumentation, harmony analysis and chord detection.
- Research and development of new deep learning models and datasets for musical representation learning (functions learning). Improvement and expansion of the existing musical corpus.
- Development, testing and evaluation of prototypes and demos. Comparative evaluation of machine learning models in Essentia at speed.
The financing of these tasks is expected to take 9 months.
Dedication and working hours: Full time (35h/week)
Planned remuneration approx: 32K € gross per year

Requirements

- Master Degree or equivalent
- Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Master’s degree in sound and music computing, music technology or related fields.
- Experience in software design, development and testing.
- Experience in web development with Python (Django or Flask).
- Proficiency in devops, including Docker.
- Experience in Linux, including server configuration and maintenance.
- Ability to work autonomously as part of a team.
- Fluent english.
- Experience in Javascript development with React, Angular or Vue.
- Experience with machine learning and deep learning environments such as TensorFlow and/or PyTorch.
- Experience in managing large data collections.
Have Spanish nationality, be a national of one of the Member States of the European Union. If you have non-EU nationality, you need a work permit to be hired on February 1, 2024. The expected start date is February 1, 2024.

Selection criteria:
The selection of the candidates will be made through evaluation of the curriculum and, where appropriate, with the carrying out a test and/or interview. Valuation will be as follows:
The selection committee uses several indicators to evaluate the applicant’s:
1. Academic Training (0-20 points). Academic qualifications above the required level.
2. Professional Experience/Adequacy to the proposed profile (0-60 points)
- Experience in: education, research.
- Digital and data analysis skills.
3. Other merits (0-20 points): languages (Catalan, Spanish, English), ability to work autonomously as part of a team.
The minimum score to pass the selection process is 70 points. The candidate with the highest score in the selection process will be offered the job.
