Offer Description
The project proposes two objectives: 1) checklist of the Greek medieval inscriptions of Rome and Latium (6th-15th centuries); 2) Byzantine epigraphy of Rome and Latium: case studies (study of groups of inscriptions of greater interest). To date, more than two hundred extant medieval Greek inscriptions have been identified in the city of Rome, and a lesser number of Byzantine inscriptions is preserved in various places in Latium. However, thanks to the work on the field that this project will entail, it is possible to expect that there will be a noteworthy increase in the dossier. The successful candidate is expected to collaborate with the research team by giving his active contribution to both field research and dissemination of results, by: 1) helping in the setting up of the online database (EByRome); 2) publishing articles on case studies; 3) giving seminars and lectures; 4) co-organizing the final round-table; 5) taking part in popularization activities
